New Taipei City, Taiwan, 3 December 2023 – Reliving that emotionally-charged scene in the movie "Beyond Beauty - TAIWAN FROM ABOVE" where tens of thousands of people ran together, and with this year being the 10th anniversary of the release of the movie, the "2023 Marathon Beyond Beauty - TAIWAN FROM ABOVE” kicked off at 5:30 am on December 3rd, at the Taipei Civic Square.
Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan’an, Taipei City Government Sports Bureau Director Wang Hongxiang, Zeiss Taiwan General Manager Zhang Pingda, and FamilyMart Public Affairs and Brand Communication Office Director Wu Caihua delivered speeches and fired the starting gun. Well-known anchors Xia Jialu, Tian Hongkui, and artist Song Chengxi led the run of 5,000 runners, replicating the touching classic scene from ten years ago.
Held for the first time, the marathon encourages people to appreciating the land under their feet and to run for environmental change and sustenance in the face of imminent climate change and environmental problems. That people should not take for granted the environment and city charm around them.
That touching scene in the 10 year old movie conveyed the human spirit and will-power to conquering obstacles. Reenacting that marathon scene is an act of reminding people of the power we possess to improving environment conditions.
